Organisations on the Home Office register of licensed sponsors whose Companies House industry code (SIC) is one of the codes below. A new licence starts A-rated; a B-rating follows a downgrade and comes with an action plan. Licences added since our copy began are not yet matched to Companies House, so additions and removals are not split by sector here; the whole-register monthly figures are on sponsor register changes.

Rules that apply to this sector
Care worker codes closed on 22 July 2025
The Home Office closed care workers (SOC 6135) and senior care workers (SOC 6136) to new overseas Skilled Worker and Health and Care Worker applications on 22 July 2025. Transitional rules for people already working in the UK in those occupations run until 22 July 2028. Social work, care management and other codes in this sector are not affected by that change. GOV.UK has the current rules.
Health and Care Worker visa
GOV.UK lists the occupation codes that use the Health and Care Worker visa, for an eligible job with the NHS, an NHS supplier or in adult social care. GOV.UK says the worker, and their partner or children, do not pay the immigration health surcharge on this route. The sponsor states the route on the Certificate of Sponsorship.
