Care providers regulated by the CQC and the devolved inspectorates hold a large share of UK sponsor licences. These are current care listings at employers whose names match the Home Office register of licensed sponsors: care homes, supported living, home care and care management.
One rule shapes this sector. The Home Office closed care worker and senior care worker roles (SOC 6135 and 6136) to new overseas Skilled Worker applications on 22 July 2025. Listings in those occupations carry that note on every card. Care management, nursing in care settings and social work are separate occupation codes that were not part of that change.
