Skill level: since 22 July 2025 the standard Skilled Worker route has required occupations at RQF level 6 or above. Codes below that level appear on the eligible list only through the Temporary Shortage List or the Immigration Salary List; GOV.UK has the current tables.
The salary on a Certificate of Sponsorship is compared with the higher of the going rate and the general threshold. Lower figures apply in set cases, such as new entrants and Immigration Salary List roles. Occupation page for SOC 2493

What this checker shows
The rules published for an occupation code, from GOV.UK’s eligible occupations, going rates, Immigration Salary List and Temporary Shortage List, each with its source and date. Whether a particular vacancy and candidate meet the rules depends on details this page does not ask for, such as the job description, hours, salary and the candidate’s circumstances. A solicitor or regulated adviser can assess those.
