Common questions

Does a sponsor licence mean they'll sponsor me?

No. A licence means the employer is permitted by the Home Office to sponsor Skilled Worker visas. It says nothing about whether they are currently willing to sponsor, whether a particular vacancy is open to sponsorship, or whether they will sponsor you specifically. Many licensed employers sponsor only a handful of people a year, and some hold a licence they rarely use. Treat the licence as the thing that makes sponsorship possible, not likely.

Where does this list come from?

The published UK Home Office register of licensed sponsors, which we mirror and refresh daily. We cross-reference organisations against Companies House where a confident match exists, which is how we can show sector and location alongside the licence itself.

Why is the total here different from the number on GOV.UK?

The GOV.UK register lists every licensed organisation across all sponsorship routes, including entries we do not publish because we cannot verify them well enough to show a useful page. Our total counts the organisations we publish. It moves daily as licences are granted and removed.

How do I find companies that sponsor visas in my sector or city?

Use the sector and region breakdowns on this page. Each figure links to the full list of licensed organisations in that slice, and every organisation has its own page showing licence route, rating where published, location, and how long it has been on the register.

What does it mean when a company is removed from the register?

A licence can end because the organisation surrendered it, stopped trading, or had it revoked or suspended by the Home Office. The register does not publish the reason. We stop showing an organisation as licensed once it leaves the register.

Can I use this to check my own company's licence status?

Yes, and employers do. If you are in HR or you run a business and want to confirm your own entry, or check a partner or supplier before relying on them, use the sponsor licence check tool. It searches the same register data.
